Step 1: Grab a walnut. (Yes, a walnut!)
Use a raw walnut. Make sure it’s not candied or cooked in any way.
Step 2: Rub the walnut on the scratch.
Rub the walnut in the same direction as the wood grain. It should take just a few swipes with the walnut to help make the scratch disappear.
Step 3: Rub your fingers over the area.
That should do it!
Step 4: Wait five minutes.
The walnut’s natural oils will need some time to soak into the wood.
Step 5: Buff the area with a soft cloth.
Voilà! The scratch is gone!!
Remember that if you have dogs or other pets, you’ll want to keep them out of the area until you’re finished with the project. Walnuts can be poisonous to pets.
