Selling The House During Divorce
Are you in the middle of divorce and dealing with the property? That’s what we’re going to be talking about today and we’re going to get started right now…
Unfortunately, divorce and separation are part of life in many cases and we are accustomed to helping with real estate needs during those times. So here are some things to consider:
- You’ve likely already got an attorney (or attorneys) involved. You’ll want to find an agent who is accustomed to working with attorneys, familiar with the paperwork involved and familiar with dealing with two parties during which it’s not always an amicable process. Your real estate agent needs to be able to stay objective and non-emotional – and not get caught up in the personal side of things involved when dealing with real estate in a divorce situation.
- You’ll want to get a valuation of the property. That can come through a local real estate expert or you could hire an appraiser to determine market value. Again, your attorney or your Realtor can make recommendations in as needed.
Life doesn’t always turn out the way you planned, and it’s important to have someone who’s on your side and able to stay objective throughout the process and help you get your property sold so that you can move forward with your life.
If you’re looking for a Realtor who’s got a lot of experience in dealing with real estate needs in divorce, I’d love to help you through this difficult time.
I’d be happy to discuss with you – in a confidential meeting – what’s involved in the process, how you can best maximize your profit, and also close this chapter of your life so that you can transition into your new season.
