Here are just a couple of things to keep in mind when you’re considering whether or not you may have some electrical issues.
Blinking lights or lights that go dim could be a sign of a further problem. Certainly, wall outlets that become discolored could be an indication of a fire hazard.
You also want to think about if you smell any burning smells. This may seem obvious but not everybody thinks about that. If your circuit breakers or your fuses tend to trip, that could indicate a further problem as well.
If you have any electrical concerns, I highly recommend getting a local, reputable electrician to do a once-over on your system. It may also be a good idea to potentially add a full house surge protector to your circuit panel. Full house surge protectors are not super expensive and that will further give you security and peace of mind knowing that your electronics and appliances aren’t going to be affected in the event of a power surge.
